RoroaGreat Spotted Kiwi
- Conservation status
- In some trouble
This is the kiwi with ATTITUDE that you may not have heard of before. Roroa are mountain-dwelling Mainlanders, living in the top of the South Island, with strongholds in Paparoa, Kahurangi, and Arthurs Pass-Hurunui ranges. They are large kiwi with mottled grey feathers, they are fierce and territorial, but unlike other kiwi, maintain family bonds with their chicks.
